This is great Vikeman, I'll give it a try tomorrow.

One suggestion, is it possible to unlock the brewday tab for formatting? I like larger print, and would like to add some notes to it. It would be nice to be able to do that on one print out.

And if you could throw the other ingredients onto the print me too.

I usually just print the recipe tab which has pretty much everything in it

All of the recipe tab ingredient sections also appear on the PrintMe page. Are you using a version older than 3.6? 3.6 added the "Other Timed Boil Additions" to the PrintMe. They appear right under the "misc info" because that's where I could make them fit.

Minor Update, Version 4.2, the Nearly Labor Day Version, is up.

    - Added a Mash Tun Over Capacity warning to the Recipe Tab and an accompanying Mash Tun Capacity parameter on the Brewhouse Tab. (Warning appears in red beside the strike water volume when applicable.)
    - Adjusted water computations to account for the volume added by non mashed ingredients like LME, DME, Honey, Lactose, Syrups, etc.
    - Added some more usable rows to the ingredient lookup tabs.
    - Added an ingredient or two

Download it and the accompanying User Guide from Google Drive or DropBox.

Is there partial boil adjustments I can make? I think I used to know how but I can't seem to find it now.

It doesn't really support partial volume boils, but if there's enough demand for it, I could add it.

    Mainly for hop utilization.

Yes. That would be the thing.

Right, but also the sparge instructions. I do a partial mash for my partial boil and I chuckle when it tells me to sparge with like 6 gallons.

    EDIT:

I was thinking I could lower the batch size to the size of my actual yield then account for water change in the gravity with the obvious proportions, but I don't know about the hops.

Downloaded! I'll use this version for my next few brews, I'll make sure to comment if I have an issues with it.

Yes, you could calculate the batch size to be consistent with what you'll have post boil (before topping off), including all the fermentables and hops. Then adjust (pen/paper/calculator) OG and IBUs for the dilution from adding the top-off water. The change for both OG* and IBUs will be inversely proportional to the change in volume.

*OG "points," i.e. you'd need to subtract 1 first, then do the calculation, then add one.

Just downloaded the new version and it seems the tun capacity feature also works for us BIABers. Thanks!

It should, as long as you have entered your kettle size as the mash tun size.

Due to an operating system version compatibility problem with Apache OpenOffice, I have taken down the .xlsm version and replaced it with an .ods version (OpenOffice's native format). If you have tried to use BrewCipher version 4.2 (.xlsm) in OpenOffice and encountered an import filter selection popup, followed by an error after selecting a filter, the .ods version should eliminate that problem. Just open the .ods version in OpenOffice and when you're done, save it in the same .ods format. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. I can't really be mad at the Apache project, with it being free and all.

Download at the same link(s) as in the first post in this thread.

Benn using the program more and more. Being a retired water quality scientist, I especially like the mash pH calculations. Thanks!

Good to know. Thanks. I'll see if I can download and test that one too, then add it to the documentation.
