I'm going to brew the Finkel & Garf Oatmeal Milk Stout that was featured in the recent issue of Zymurgy. I'm entering the ingredients into Brewcipher now but can't find some of the malts in the drop down list.

Munich Malt 10L - closest I found was Munich 9 srm.
Chocolate Malt 450L - closest I found was Crisp Chocolate 412L

Anyone know if there are better choices than those to represent munich 10L and chocolate 450L?
    Thanks!

If you are comfortable with Excel basics, you can add those malts. Copy and paste the info of the malts you referenced that it did have and change the name and L to what you do have. It will be close enough if you transfer the info right.

What he said. Do this on the GRAINLOOKUP tab, in first available blank rows. Then they will show up in your dropdown (at the bottom). Keep everything the same except the Lovibond (color) column, and change the names (if you want).

Also, if you think you'll need these entries again, do this in a copy of BrewCipher that you'll use as the starting point for new recipes.

---OR--- in this case, just use the choices that are there. The difference in the computations will be insignificant, unless you're doing an all Munich/Chocolate beer or something. (And even then it would be pretty insignificant.)
