I love BrewCipher. It made things so much easier for me than when I was using beer smith. I was wondering if I could add malts into it if they werent already in the database? Or if I could just type in the malt name and the gravity points and still have it calculate?

    Thanks

There's a tab called GRAINLOOKUP. You can add and/or modify malts there.
FWIW, there's also a user guide that you can download that explains how all the tabs (including the LOOKUP tabs) work.

Awesome deal. I figured with as much thought you put in to that there was a way to do it. I was just too lazy to figure out how. Thanks!

There's not much hard data to go on. Here's what I'll be loading in the next version, with the numbers based on some reading, some assumptions, and some calculations...

    Grain: Best Malz Red X
    PPG: 35
Extraction affected by Mash Efficiency?: y
    Basic Attenuation: 0.75
Attenuation Affected by Mash Cond?: y
    Lovibond: 12
    DP: 135
    pH Type: B
Dissolved Gallons per Pound for non mashed/non steeped ingredients: NA
