I assume, yes, it will be 21 and older. They will likely ID all parties at check in, possibly as they enter the facility.

If you are planning on taking your children to a beer hotel, you have problems.

It reminds me of when an old co-worker of mine was taking his children to the Wildwood Inn in Northern Kentucky while they were on a trip to Kings Island... I had to explain to him that those weren't rooms for families.

Welp--it looks like Brewdog did put taps in the room and fridges in the showers:

It also looks like when you book your room, for $16, it will give you Punk IPA or Jet Black Heart available in your room on tap, for $20 will get you Hazy Jane or Elvis Juice.

Wow, curated list of beers, curated list of coffee, wonder if the soap is curated as well?

Whatever, just poking a bit of fun at the overuse of the word "curated", no big deal.
Does the $16 or $20 tap fee give you unlimited draft beer? Doesn't make me want to stay there any more or less, but it's kinda cool if it is unlimited draft.

I believe it is for 64 oz. of beer (growler worth). So nope not unlimited....would sure make for an interesting stay within the hotel if it was all unlimited.

I’m usually not a big mark for this kind of stuff, but I want to stay a night or two at this hotel

I'm confused how this works. I would have just assumed there is a kegerator in each room. How would they limit you to 64oz through a draft system?

EDIT: I found this from a news report about the hotel opening. "The tap in every room is activated when guests purchase a growler of their favorite BrewDog beer during their stay." Soooooo its some sort of....like....electronic system that lets you fill a growler? Still confused honestly.

And for those who said it wouldn't happen....

I wanna know what will happen once BrewDog goes public and they have real shareholders who need higher returns year in and year out.

Can't imagine they'll continue being so friendly to the local competition for long. I won't be surprised when they get to the point where they start putting offers out on craft breweries.

Yeah, this is honestly looking like a really cool concept. I don't live far from here and even I'm thinking of staying a night.

I think maybe a growler's "worth" of beer?

My other question is the beer in the fridges, is that also charged individually, or do you have free reign to it?

So it looks like maybe the tap handle in the room mystery may be sort of solved??? But like mentioned above, what about the beer fridge? Will there be sensors under each can and once removed the charge is added to your bill?
As the hotel is opening this weekend, I will wait a few weeks to read customer reviews before I decide if this is worth it or not.

Hotel minibars simply count how many items you've taken and add it after you check out. It doesn't have to be some high tech shit.

Some do have weights that charge you if the weight changes after a minute or so.

I’ve stayed at hotels that have sensors in the mini-fridge. Once got charged for just lifting a can of Coke but put it back after 10 seconds or so. Charge was credited after they saw that all items were accounted for. Just saying...it happens.

You're paying to stay in their hotel and then they charge you $20 for a growler of an IPA?

    I'm good.

You can always go spend $500 to stay overnight at a Disney hotel and STILL have to pay for your admission ticket to the park. Why would the growler be free? You are paying for the ability to sleep there, not get unlimited all-you-can-drink beer!

Totally, I'm just saying $20 is steep for a growler fill in general. You'd think the markup would be a bit more reasonable since you're paying to stay there and they're not paying a beer tender to serve you. That's all.
