I assume everyone's seen the reports about what happened at the BII Scotland awards, but just in case-

    http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/diageo-v-brewdog

Just wondering what everyone's take is? My heart sank when I found not because of Diageo's actions, but because I knew that Brewdog would be imminently releasing a bunch of David vs Goliath hyperbole, when it's probably just a couple of dick sales reps who had a couple of pre-party drinks and went gung-ho. When I read things from James like 'we took on Diageo and nailed them to the mast' it pangs of the same kind of exaggeration that you get from a guy whose car gets shunted slightly, but realises he can get more compensation by crying 'whiplash'.

lool even companies hate Brewdog. Though I agree Brewdog should not win any awards.

I love all the commenters too talking about Brewdog as if they were a small company being pushed down because of their size. Nice bit of late night comedy :')

Haha "No soul" says the "punk" company who sell hardcore extreme temporary tattoos.

And the biggest hypocrisy of all: " Your comment will appear shortly after it has been approved by a moderator"

Yep, I heard all about it. Diageo have already issued a statement criticising the behaviour of their staff at the awards. Didn't stop James Watt's predictably dignity free rant in his blog though did it?

Massive "own goal" by Diageo. You can hardly blame James Watt for capitalising on this Diageo mess-up with a publicity campaign!

why do we have the 'not so sneaking suspicion' that if Brewdymares had won then they'd have been pilloried for sucking up to big business. This way they've won handsomely and without having to pay a penny for PR... so business as usual

I would say it was all a lot of bollocks but the Brewdog act like either it's had them cut off or they are a total bitch.

What's clear is that BrewDog did get their award, Diageo aopolgised for the behaviour of their apparent rogue staff and that James Watt wrote in his BrewDog blog:

As for Diageo, once you cut through the glam veneer of pseudo corporate responsibility this incident shows them to be a band of dishonest hammerheads and dumb ass corporate freaks. no soul and no morals, with the integrity of a rabid dog and style of a wart dog.

FWIW, BrewDog probably really deserved this award as their bars are pretty top notch but the way they have spun the story is a stomach turner. But one thing's for certain, you'll never find Lagavulin or Dalwhinnie barrel aged Hardcore IPA any time in the future.

Ask James Watt to define pseudo haha. It seems to be the number one word people use to try and sound cleverer than they are without knowing what it means.
