Hello friends. A colleague of mine is coming to the US for a meeting with me in September. She lives in Glasgow and has offered to bring me some Brewdog bottles. I would love to give her a list to "look" for and maybe even some stores if you have suggestions. We can get the obvious ones here in the US but could you please recommend some more unique or rare beers that perhaps are not exported, and where she might have a chance of finding them? For example the Highland Tokyo Rising is not exported I don't believe. Looking for beers which will age well in our cellar (photos here and here).

    Thanks in advance!

    With Brewdog it's fairly simple
the more exclusive/limited availability the bigger the price (BD know how to make money)
so just instruct to buy anything over £15 and you'll have some kudos bottles

the best beer shops in Glasgow are

Valhallas Goat on Great Western Road http://www.valhallasgoat.com/ - you'd need to contact them on twitter/facebook/phone to find out what they have
Hippo Beers on queen margaret drive http://hippobeers.co.uk/?wpsc_product_category=scotland - these guys list what they have on their website
and the Drygate brewery has a small shop too http://drygate.com/, it's at the foot of the necropolis

I think the brewdog bar sells bottles to take away although I'm not sure about that, maybe tweet them

They are opening up another bar and beer shop here but it's not open yet

Brewdog sell all of their available beers through their webshop: http://www.brewdog.com/shop

This will almost certainly be the most up-to-date outlet for their beers (with the exception of random rarities sitting on shelves somewhere). Take a look and see if anything looks interesting - your friend could order them in the UK and bring them over....

It's not available online anymore but Abstrakt 15 is fantastic and still around some of the bars.

But don't forget exclusivity & limited does not necessarily equate to being good.
