Love Martin and Dickie's show in the US. Whatever your feelings about their beer, you have to admit they love what they are doing and that they do it real well. Maybe the wrong forum but I am reminded that it was British Brewing that served as inspiration for the Microbrew Movement here and now they are bringing the American spin on that back to the UK.
i emjoy the show. find it pretty funny. same goes for dark horse nation. just a bunch of kids that never grew up.
Actually if I can borrow this forum for a moment to discuss one of Brewdog's most accessible UK beers Tesco Finest DIPA Had it recently & swear has pretty drastically changed used to be like an amped up punk now it was a more maltier quality that makes it more like whatever the ice distil for Watt Dickie anyone else notice this?
Not tried it in a while, was excellent though. I see Wetherspoons will be stocking their recently launched This Is Lager in 200 pubs on draught initially then rolling out to the rest.
Some one has added This.Is.Lager onto the site but not rated it took a look elsewhere & opinion is split with some reckoning it is very much like macro faux pils so, since keg imitation lager came about as it is cheap to make & easy to mass manufacture has Brewdog gone full circle & ended up on the other side of the fence?
it'll be an ironic iconic craft keg classic recreation of the muck everyone has been swerving for for decades. The resurgence of Tartan, Trophy, Worthington E and Skol begins here.
Skol! one of my early favourites. I'm sure it's not as strong now as it was. It was only piss water instead of complete and total pisswater. And Tartan spesh of course, nectar of the gods. I don't know which god, certainly not a merciful one though
I can see the overblown bullshit promo blurb now "As a dog returns to it's vomit......" SpewDog This.Is.Lager.
Yep. Sure have. 100% positive they've cut the hops in this one. Guess they figure people won't notice.
Anyone done a side by side with Hardcore IPA? I too used to enjoy the Tescos ADIPA and noticed the lack of balancing hops. I presumed that Tescos might have had their stock lying around for a while.
I've had a few fresh Tesco Finest DIPAs recently, and they were actually hoppier than I remember them being a couple of years ago. A real intense bitterness and hop flavour. I struggled with one of them, it was almost too much for me. For me it's astonishing that a beer this hoppy is available in Tesco. I'll try another, but so far I've been very impressed with recent batches. And I tried them with the memory of fresh Maelstrom still with me!
Like Sam Adams "Maybe it's been ruined.. Maybe it's Shepherd Neame" (sung to the tune of the Maybelline advert jingle)
Ahh! Friday. My selection tonight consists of, McEwans Champion Ale, Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Engineer's Reserve Blackest Ale, Marston's Oyster Stout, Tesco DIPA, Karmeliet Tripel, Sleeman's Honey Beer, Trappistes Rochefort, 1906 Reserva Especial.
