Brewed my first batch this evening

    I learned a lot about how inefficient my plan, equipment and, procedures are. Lots of lessons learned for next time. Even so, it was a gratifying experience. I look forward to hanging out in this forum more often!

    That is just part of homebrewing. Congrats on your first batch! I hope you have many more to follow as it is an awesome hobby. Make sure you take some really good notes to help avoid rookie mistakes in the future.

    First lesson I learned was start to boil the water ASAP as it tastes the longest. If
    You do extract with steeping grains do the Steeping while the big boil pot heats up. A good check list with the listed steps helps so you can look ahead and not forget stuff. it's all part of the fun.

    Well I've learned that patience is important. My first batch is finally tasting decent 5 weeks after bottling. I accidentally used Belgian Pils instead of Pale, so it tastes a bit watered down from what I had expected. I'll get it right next time.
