Hey all - currently in the car on the way to Philly from LI/NYC for a quick day trip. Just looking for suggestions on some lesser known breweries around Philly.

Making a stop at TH obviously - just placed my order. I was thinking Forest & Main. Heard some good stuff in the past and it’s close to TH.

    Cheers!

Maybe Troon will release something in the next 40 minutes, though you still probably wouldn't get there in time.

I've had some good stuff from Brix City in NJ, looks like it's on the way.

Forest and Main is still closed. Only offering deliveries and pick up Saturdays at the Ambler Farmer's Market.

Do people just sit outside Troon every day just hoping for a release?

I would go to Fermentery Form but that would always be my answer if I were in Philly on a day they're open. Might not make sense from a traffic stand point, but they're open and worth going to if you're into farmhouse beers.

Not sure of your route....tonewood in oaklyn, NJ is pretty good. Nothing earth shattering but good NEIPAs and actually good lagers/pales. Much of their none DIPA stuff is canned in 12oz 6 packs which to me is a plus. They're doing pickup/touchless.

Basically, they did (until covid forced online lightning presales)

I love farmhouse ales, this is on my route AND they are open today. Thanks for the tip.

Would also say, at least by me, the Cherry Hill (free standing) Wegmans liquor and mount laurels Wegmans (liquor store in back) usually have great core beers from Kane/Carton/Tonewood/Cape May all refrigerated for one stop shopping, just an FYI.

What styles of beer are you looking for?

Honestly anything. I drink all styles - not picky. Right now I prefer lagers and lower abv beers to drink on the beach, but it’s not exclusive.
