Breweries around Boca Raton area?

    We’re tossing around the idea of going on a mini vacation to Boca Raton during the first week of April. Any breweries worth hitting up in that area?

    We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale, and it looks like Funky Buddha is on the way. Are the any others? Or is FB the only one worth hitting up?

    in Boca Raton there is Barrel of Monks brewery, which is pretty decent and offers Belgian style beers and the Funky Buddha Lounge which is in Boca.

    Between Fort Lauderale airport and Boca, you have the following:

    Funky Buddha (production brewery) in Oakland Park and Funky Buddha Lounge in East Boca Raton (experimental small batch beers by FB)
    LauderAle (decent & near airport)
    Invasive Species (newer brewery that I would recommend visiting in Ft Laud)
    Flagler Village (at Brass Tap Ft Laud)
    Khoffner Brewery in Ft Laud (would skip)
    Bangin Banjo in Pompano (maybe skip)
    26 Degrees in Pompano (would skip)
    Odd Breed Wild Ales (new brewery in Pompano specializes in sours)

    I would do Invasive Species, Funky Buddha and Odd Breed out of those but that’s just my opinion. Once in Boca, do Funky Buddha lounge if on East side of town by US1 or near beach or Barrel of Monks if west of I-95.

    Short drive north of Delray would be Devour, NOBO, Due South, and Copperpoint all in relatively close proximity. I second the post above about hits and skips.

    There is also Tarpon River Brewing in Ft. Lauderdale which opened up in February. have not been myself or read anything about it on here.

    Saltwater in Delray has just ok beer but the spot is very nice, especially if it’s nice outside

    Which Funky Buddha site can I purchase bottles/crowlers at? Both or just the production site?

    But you can find a ton of funky Buddha at any total wine

    Any good beer bars in Boca? Looks like we'll be staying at the Hyatt, right downtown there. Hopefully there's one or two within walking distance. But not a deal breaker.
