Boston where? Nightshift and Boneyard in Everett. Cambridge brewing and Lamplighter across the river. Jacks Abby and Exhibit A in Framingham. Trillium? Right next door is row 34, and a CBC, down the street is Harpoon.

More in Framingham: John Harvard's and Springdale (if you consider them separate from Jack's). Then there's Mystic Brewery in Chelsea and Idle Hands in Malden.

On the North Shore there's Notch in Salem. Far From the Tree cidery is also in Salem. A little further north is the Ipswich Ale Brewery/restaurant and the new True North Ale Company.

No disrespect intended to the OP, but when people post things like this, the quality of responses will be greatly improved by more detail in the post. Are you making a Boston-area beer trip? If so, see one of the many threads on the subject, including one a few posts down from this. Are you going to be in a particular area in or around Boston for work from time to time? It so, where and what are you looking for? If you tell me you have a spare hour to grab some cans to go after a meeting in Cambridge, my answer is going to be much different than if you say you have a day to kill in Worcester, etc.

Edited to add: Also, I always find it most helpful when I make similar asks about other cities when I get suggestions that are realistic about my time and location. If I'm in a new city for two days for work and am looking for a place with a decent taplist and solid food, suggestions to get an uber 30 minutes away aren't nearly as helpful as hearing that there is a good spot around the corner from my hotel. I think about this every time someone says "Oh, you'll be in Boston for a day? Just go to Armsby in Worcester, no big deal."

Sorry for the lack of clarification in the first post, first time starting a thread. I am flying into Boston early on a Thursday morning and have a whole day to kill before waiting line at Treehouse on Friday. I am willing to drive up to 1.5 hours and want to be able to pick up cans to bring home as well as have some brews on tap. Hope this is better

Do you mean Bone Up Brewing? Also Down The Road is finally open in Everett

1.5 hours puts you in more than just the boston area. There are some great breweries in NH and Maine that far away. I'd say go to lamplighter and cbc in cambridge, then you can take the T to trillium, or go the other way to slumbrew, bantam, and aeronaut in somerville.

All good. Hope your first trip is enjoyable! Here is what I would do with that much time (assuming you are staying in Boston). Personally I would prioritize hitting a few fun spots and not trying to tick a half dozen breweries, especially if you are going to be here again from time to time in the future.

I would: grab cans to go at Trillium Fort Point and other cans/bottles next door at Fort Point Market. If you like seafood, grab a beer and lunch at Row 34 next door to Trillium. Night Shift is a really fun place to hang out for an afternoon evening, and is a ~$10-15 Uber away, less if you pool. Another option as @gclaw4444 mentioned is Cambridge; beers at Lamplighter (also cans to go) followed by dinner/beers at Cambridge Brewing Company would be a great time too. For your first time here, and since you are already going to be driving a lot for TH, I would not venture to Maine/NH. Not worth it. They are great beer destinations, but you need more time; at least a day.

I would second Justin42's point above that I wouldn't bother with any 1 hour drives unless there is a specific brewery you are super interested in hitting. Less driving more beer! :sunglasses:

I'd stick to Cambridge (CBC, Lamplighter), Boston (Trillium, Fort Point Market) and Everett/Malden (Nightshift, Idle Hands, Mystic) for the day and then you could hit some cool stuff in Framingham (Jack's Abby/Springdale, Exhibit A) which is on the way to or from Treehouse if you wished (personally I'd make time for this if possible).

I'd just start looking up their websites and seeing which ones speak to you the most since they vary a fair bit in what their focuses are. CBC and Jack's Abby have full kitchens, and Nightshift has a food truck or BYOF, so those are good places to aim for when it comes to brewery meals. If you like seafood I'd definitely second Row 34 as they have a great taplist taboot.

    Have a blast!

To your North Shore list, I'll add Gentile Brewing in Beverly. Great little taproom, solid beer, good people.
