So I'm traveling up to DC for the weekend... March 21-24. I want to hit up a couple of local breweries as is my tradition every where I go! I'm staying close to the Capitol building... What are a couple of places y'all think I should visit to experience DC local beer?!?! I saw DC brau and Right Proper... Good choices or should I include somewhere else?

Bluejacket. It's right next to the Nats stadium. There is also Atlas and 3 Stars. I personally find 3 Stars to be pretty meh though.

Good choice with Right Proper. Best brewery in DC. Prices are on point.

I'll actually be down there this weekend too. We're definitely hitting up Right Proper on Saturday. I hear good things.

Right Proper is making a lot of very cool brews. Heads up though you might want to make a reservation if you want a table. I was there last weekend and it was an hour wait for a table on a Saturday night. We ended up finding a spot at the bar, so just FYI if you wanna sit down and eat there as well (the food was quite good as well)

DC Brau is a good choice to pick up OTWOA cans but they don't serve food and they're in an industrial area. Bluejacket is great for food and brews

I wasn't initially impressed by Bluejacket, but I was there on Friday and it blew me away. Lost Weekend is a seriously great IPA and their farmhouse game is getting pretty strong too. Full Bloom and Valley Below are both really good.

DC Brau if you have a car, if not then pass. Right Proper for sure, first priority. Blue Jacket is a must hit as well, you can read the threads about the beer, but that aside it really is a great and unique place to visit.

What industries are over there? All I can recall are DC Brau and a post office.

Business area might be a better description, but it's definitely not like a nice office park or anything

Completely agree with this. I've been in "beer mourning" having just moved here from Oregon, but Bluejacket (and Lost Weekend in particular) was the first thing that has gotten me to reverse course a bit. The can of OTWOA that I got from my new friend who I met there was the second thing. Hoping to visit Right Proper soon so I can continue on this trajectory!

Right Proper gets my recommendation. They've been killing it lately. Their Biere de Mars is one of the best Brett beers that I've ever had and their new Berlinerweisses, Kick.Kick.Snare and Diamonds, Fur Coat, & Champagne are similarly incredible. No one else in DC is making as consistently great beer as they are.

Thanks for all of the recommendations! Definitely hitting up right proper, it's not too far from my hotel!
