    Breweries:

The Kernel (probably the best brewery in the country)
    Partizan

    Euston Tap (Euston Station)

If you're a fan of traditional British cask ale: take the tube to Turnham Green, from there it's only a 20-minute walk to Fullers. They do a decent tour and their pub there will have well-kept cask.

If you want some more US/international inspired stuff, go for the Cask Pub and Kitchen in Pimlico, or one of the Craft Beer Co bars.

You can also visit the Kernel brewery on a Saturday, as well as a few other breweries (Partizan, Fourbure, Brew by Numbers and more) in the area as part of the Bermondsey beer mile (again, on a Saturday). This is the same as the "London Mile" mentioned above, except there are more breweries there now.

Another great London brewery is Beavertown. You'll probably see them on tap in bars and their cans on sale in bottle shops, but their own bar, Duke's Brew and Que, is supposed to be good as well.

Dukes Brew and Que is great (fantastic food paired with equally fantastic beers) and I thoroughly recommend a visit though they are really more of a BBQ restaurant than a pub - the bar area is quite small leaving only some covered tables outside for people not eating, which in the cold of winter isn't the best place to be!

The surrounding area is pretty well served for breweries, within a couple of miles you also have the London Fields Brewery tap, The **** Tavern on Mare Street, Hackney (a brewpub that's home to Howling Hops), the Crate Brewery and the Cygnet (home to the revived Trumans) are at Hackney Wick a couple of stops up the line while The Earl of Essex (another brewpub, this one is called Earl's Brewery) and the Hops and Glory (a new brewpub, home to the Solvay Society) are near Angel and both worthy of patronage!

You shouldn't miss the Harvey's pub in Southwark, the Royal Oak on Tabard street. Proper old-fashioned boozer with different rooms, cask Mild and it's Harvey's. Like stepping back into the 1970's, but in a good way.
