I'm doing a quick weekend camping trip up in Kennebunk and was looking for recommendations for nearby breweries. The wife probably will only let me sneak off for a few minutes to grab some bottles or growlers, so Portland is out. Are Hidden Cove or Funky Bow worth checking out? Bottle shops? Thanks in advance!

Federal Jacks is in Kennebunk I believe. Then Banded Horn and Barreled Souls are close. Make sure to visit Tully's

Funky Bow on a Friday Night is usually an Awesome time... Live bands, bonfire, pizza. Definitely worth looking into.

As for cans/bottles, check out "Cummings" - It's the gas station right off the Kennebunk Exit, but solid solid selection of Maine beers, etc. If you're closer to Kennebunkport, maybe HB Provisions for cans/bottles? Smaller selection, but some good options.

Federal Jack's used to be a go-to for us, but I've been kind of left wanting the last few times I visited them. Didn't realize Banded Horn was close, too. Is Barreled Souls any good? Their current tap list sounds very interesting.

If you travel a bit south you'll find Run of the Mill brew Pub in Saco downtown. Nothing to go crazy over but some good solid beers and a really nice patio spot on the river outside of the mill.

I like the beer they put out and I also love all the Boston, MA, VT stuff. So take that for what its worth.

Never had Barreled Souls but I hear its worth the visit. Banded Horn is solid the Pils is very good. The the veridian IPA is as well. They make it with granola and you can tell gives a different but good twist. They also have a DIPA released recently.

Barreled Souls is great! Lots of interesting stuff on tap, and everything I've had has been good to amazing. It's becoming one of my go-tos when I'm in Maine. The beer at Run of the Mill really doesn't compare, but they do serve food and have a nice deck if those things are important to you.

Cummings market is a good low key spot. Be sure to check the cooler over by the deli. But please leave me a couple choices. I am headed up there this weekend too!

Whats the deal with growlers at Barreled Souls? Looking for general prices for growler fills and the growler itself. All I've heard is that they have a crate that holds 4 growlers.

    They are $8 - $10 for 32 oz. Deposit was something like $3 - $5.

A few minutes, a couple hours, same thing, right? 'Honey, I got lost'. I'd hate to admit how many times I've done that.

Because sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I've had a few things from them that have made their way into MA and haven't been terribly wow'ed (I know, that's probably blasphemy on my part). Would there be anything specific worth trying if I did stop in on my way up?
