I've had the pleasure to live in two cities that have claimed to have the greatest bcp. Fort Collins and Eugene in the 90's. But shit has changed since then.

Just one street in Bury St Edmunds has six breweries. Greene King, Morland's, Ridley's, Tolly Cobbold, Hardy's and Hansons and Ruddles.Or so Greene King would have us believe.
There are of course dozens of breweries in villages with only a handful of inhabitants !

What volume do they brew? The culture in the uk is far different than the us. Many in the uk only brew for their own pub though, right?

I wonder if The Forks, ME, has sparkly vampires like Forks, WA?

So how about the flip side? What city has the worst ratio of breweries per people? Los Angeles comes to mind as " under served" compared to the above.

I'll do you one better. http://tribune.com.pk/multimedia/slideshows/466716/
The entire country of Pakistan has only one brewery. Plus, Karachi is the world's third largest city w/a pop of 21 million, so either way you slice it.

No, I was being cynical; Greene King bought up all these breweries and closed them down except its own.The beers brewed at the Westgate brewery in Bury St.Edmunds are "badged" as if this never happened.
There is a brewery close by in Colston Bassett (better known for its Stilton) which is a village of 225 inhabitants.

I really didn't do a ton of research but FWIW this was the article I happened to look at when I googled.

Though not a winner, Indian Wells Brewery in Inyokern, CA was the first that came to my mind. 1 brewery/1,099 people.

Hopefully the local brew is a positive factor in keeping people in place. Small breweries in out of the way places are usually labors of love.

Isn't the more pertinent question "Which city produces the most beer per capita"
This answer is a Czech city cause they are far and away the biggest drinkers
Pretty sure nowhere in CA is going to win the original question

All those homers in Asheville and Vermont should have some kind of face-off, like a hacky sack contest...or fixey race...or maybe a mass brawl to see who's the top small location.
