Been to Ommegang three times and had a fine experience each time (also got to purchase some cave-conditioned Hennepin on two of the occasions. Barrier Brewing is great, they are about a 15-20 min. drive from my place and I go there to get growler fills often.

+1 Element was amazing. My wife and I made a trek out "west" and we had an amazing experience in Millers Falls. I almost wish I could live next door.

Toured Stone...cool people. Three Floyd's is an interesting experience. Folks at Greenbush were super cool. Lost Abbey, AleSmith, Green Flash, Bloomington Brewing, Zwanzigz also worthwhile experiences. Dudes at Zwanzigz are really nice.

Lakewood is my favorite. Good size brewery so they can fit a lot of people but small enough that I don't feel packed in (ignoring BA & Raspberry Temptress days of course). I haven't been in a few years but Rahr used to be really fun. I never liked their beers much (there's something they use I hate, I don't know what but I can taste it in all their beers) but the vibe was fun and they did a good job with the tours. I know people shit on Rahr around here but if you want a fun to place to relax on a Sat. afternoon that's a good option, or at least it was a few years ago.

Can't believe Brewdog hasn't been mentioned yet, especially from one of our UK friends :grinning:

The head brewer Dave at Three Notch'd Brewing in Charlottesville, VA is extremely friendly and welcoming, happy to share what they're working on. Even better, the beers are always at least solid and often exceptional.

Half Acre - Always friendly and offer samples and willing to talk as long as they can.
Pipeworks - Whenever I've talked to them at tastings they are super cool and friendly, gave me a good lead on where to land some BA Jones Dog when it first came out.
Central Waters - Awesome feel at the tap room, very friendly. They ran things as best they could at the 16 release and admitted to their mistakes.

4 Hands immediately came to my mind too. A lot of the STL breweries have good service but 4 Hands really stands out.
