Not the base for Moat Water. They're two different beers. One is brewed by the brew pub and one is brewed by the brewery.

Yes it is, the brewmaster for CCB brewpub, Tim Ogden, who just left to brew for TBBC and when they original made the acquisition for him to do Moat Water, he used Brewers Brunch Stout for the base, which they added more ingredients to at the main brewery. These are words from his mouf.

Sure, they're similar beers. But I can only assume some of those extra ingredients are fermentables since one is listed at 6.8% and the other is 8.0%. I just think calling it the base beer for Moat Water is misleading, especially when it's meant to contribute to the hype.

Tomato tamato. I understand what you're saying though but I was just posting it because no one else had. I haven't had BBS yet, I've had lots of Moat Water though and Tim is a stand up guy. Hope to see you there. Hope they don't fool us.

Agreed. We're arguing semantics at this point. Both are great beers, and like I said before, they're very similar. Unfortunately, I won't be there tomorrow as I live 2 hours from the brew pub.
