A friend is in town Friday night, staying at her friend's apartment in Charlestown. We're going to meet up with her for a drink nearby and I thought about checking out Brewer's Fork, since I haven't been yet. The catch is that my friend will have her small child (~18 months old) with her. How's the scene there late afternoon / early evening? Any other suggestions for a more kid-friendly place in Charlestown? Not looking for a place to take him to dinner (we're doing takeout), just a place where we can go for a drink and not be out of place/annoying to everyone at the bar. Thank you!
Not sure, but other nearby options if it isn't comfortable that would be fine are Tavern at the End of the World and the new assembly square Slumbrew Beer Garden.
Every time I've been, there's been atleast half a dozen babies there. So I'd imagine your party would be fine.
Cool, thank you! We'll give it a try in that case. Worst case scenario we go somewhere else or bring some beers back to the apartment. Looks like a cool spot though.
Definitely kid friendly, I was there on fathers day there were tons of tiny humans. Food was amazing and the beer list was a really refreshing change of pace and attitude.
It's definitely a restaurant first and bar 2nd. Great environment, killer beer list curated by former Meadhall beer manager. Epic Jacks Abbey event happening tonight...pretty sure all 20-30 lines will be their beers.
Piling on: Yes, Brewers Fork is totally kid friendly -- especially the spacious patio area -- and the beer list is great. It would be my number one choice for Charlestown.
Awesome, thank you all for the insight. Sounds like a great spot. Do they let you just have drinks on the patio, or do you have to eat dinner to sit there?
I don't know the answer, but if it were me I would probably find a reason to split a pie that has just been lauded as one of the best in Boston, even if only as an appetizer.
Anyone get down here yesterday? Crazy taplist with a good deal of of Jack's Abby and Nebco beers including Fuzzy Baby Ducks and Double FBD. THe new Beerk Geek Helles was on as well.
Yes. Just as you said, great tap list from JA and NEBCO. Brewer's Fork staff did a great job managing a packed house. It's become one of my favorite places in Boston.
