Road trip for Thanksgiving, maybe stop off at a brewery for a bottle. Going up to Eureka along 101, a nice rest stop would be past Santa Rosa. Found these places on Brewery Map I'm familiar with Lost Coast and Mendocino. Anything interesting. Otherwise there are plenty of winerys to choose from. Butte Creek Brewery Ukiah Mendocino Brewing Ukiah Ukiah Brewing Ukiah Rocland Beverage Ukiah Eel River Brewing Scotia Heatherdowns Brewery Hydesville Brewhouse at Bear River Loleta Lost Coast Eureka
heatherdowns doesn't actually exist, brewhouse at bear river is just a bar in a casino, Mendocino brewing is no longer open, and I think rocland is just a liquor store. Eel River is good and has been bringing out some cellared bottles of barleywines for reasonable prices and has (overpriced) crowlers now but it is pretty much all the way to Eureka so might be to far and Lost Coast is in Eureka plus their beer kinda sucks if you ask me. Ukiah Brewing is really good food and decent beer, not sure what they have for bottles. I would recommend stopping somewhere in Santa Rosa really. You've got midnight brewing, fogbelt has some interesting stuff and is close to the highway, russian river is always popular, there's a ton more.
Russian River brewery, hen house brewery, laguanitas are some of the big ones up by Santa Rosa. Russian River just opened a new brew spot worth a check. All these are off the 101
Looks like there is not much worth stopping for unless I need a break. On the other hand at my destination there looks to be some interesting places, such as Humboldt Regeneration Brewery & Farm "First California brewery since Prohibition to brew a 100% house-grown and malted beer..."
Humboldt regen is fun and worth a visit but would definitely recommend Redwood Curtain brewing in arcata as well Dead Reckoning tavern which is a beer bar with typically really good taps.
While up in Eureka, check out Redwood Curtain in Arcata as recommended by @walterfredo. And Beercraft in Rohnert Park, while not a brewery, is another solid option for a 101 stop.
I agree with the above. Redwood Curtain and Dead Reckoning are the best choices when you’re in Humboldt. Dead Reckoning also has an awesome bottle shop located directly next door to the tavern.
Stopped by Regeneration but they were closed for the day. My partner wasn't into a beer hunt so we just tried to stay out of the rain.
