I hope they can survive this. The breadth of quality beers they brewed, the deliciousness of their food and the uniqueness of their space are unparalleled in North Carolina. I received notice that their Cellar Door program was going to end this month which is a real disappointment. I didn't love every beer in the program but they were sure pushing the envelope outside of the hazy IPA, pastry stout and fruited sour trio that seems to dominate the scene these days.

I have never focused on who was responsible for the creativity of their brewing. Anybody know who that was and whether he is still with the company?

I just read an article from Good Beer Hunting that included the following quote: "Patrick Woodson (director of brewing operations and co-owner of Brewery Bhavana) stresses the independence of the brewing operations, saying that he had little to no involvement in management of the restaurant and taproom."

So it sounds like he's still around.

I'll support them if they clean house of management and everyone involved with the inappropriate behavior. As a whole, it sounds like the entire establishment was founded on lies. They fabricated their rags to riches story and put on a face for the community. More people were involved and had to know about this. I'll spend my money elsewhere until they re-organize.

From my read of the article, it appears that the problems were in the restaurant, not the brewery, which was run as a separate operation. The article was long and I started to skim it halfway through so I may have missed something. The restaurant is currently closed and I don't know whether the brewery is still in operation. The brewery will need to re-brand as the name Bhavana is now toxic but I hope they survive.

Will def need to rebrand - a few bottle shops in the Triad area are no longer carrying the brand.

Agreed - the brewery and the restaurant/taproom/bookstore/flower shop sharing the name will make it tough for the brand to survive. I hope the brewery keeps making beers as the ones I have tried have been good but I also hope they divest themselves of the management/ownership involved in the suspect behavior.
