Has anybody heard anything about a brewery looking at opening in Naugatuck? I just read the most unconfirmed of unconfirmed rumors of one and I don't know if it is an expansion of an existing brewery, a new micro brew or even a brew pub. For all I know, maybe some place like NEBCO may be looking at cheaper digs. I am just guessing. I read a post on a non-beer related site about local business development and a one time only poster made casual mention of it. So I am just trying to flush out if there is anything real behind this.

    Bump

Seriously, not a single person is even aware of a low level rumor on this? There was somebody at a Naugatuck community meeting talking about this.

Personally, I haven't heard any rumors. CT Beer Trail doesn't have any info, either. Do you have a link to the site where the rumor was mentioned?

I have heard that NEBCO is looking for a bigger place, however it did not sound like any new digs had been secured. They also said they were looking to stay in the same area as they are now.

It was in a local Patch forum about business development in Naugatuck. But it has been so many weeks now, I wouldn't be able to find that article, given the way that site works.

From their current location to the Naugatuck border s less than 10 miles and that stretch of 63 has loads of industrial property. I used to from deeper into Naugatuck all the way to downtown New Haven, so I would certainly consider that relatively in the same area, especially considering that the leasing costs are probably considerably cheeper. I hadn't heard anything specific about NEBCO, I just threw that out there because that would be a no brainer for a brewery like them, if they were considering a new location. It is basically 9 miles straight up one road.

Didn't realize that Naugatuck was that close. That is one area of the state that I don't know that well
