I'm back in town for the week and was driving up Main Street and what do I see? A new brewery just opened! Very excited for the community to now have local beer so accessible. Their name is Chuckalek and I believe they just opened last weekend. I tried 6 or 7 beers and all were first batches for them on the new system. They were all solid and I can see them growing nicely. The Smoked Wheat, Brown Porter, and Berliner Weiss stood out as favorites to me. Has anyone else heard of or been able to check these guys out?
I grew up in Ramona, and this is the greatest news I've heard about the town since I left. I'll definitely be stopping by when I visit the folks in a couple months.
So one week later and still no other visits? I tried to hit it up one more time before I left but that didn't work out.
Now that it looks like I'll be moving back to San Diego in June (couldn't be more pumped to live back in Normal Heights) does anyone have any new opinions on this brewery? I heard they had trouble with the ABC, which is bs but another story...
They've already made headlines! http://ramona.patch.com/articles/ramona-s-new-chuckalek-brewery-cited-for-providing-alcohol-to-minor
Politics aside (and trust me I have strong opinions about this) I hope they do well and stay open as long as possible. I would love to have a brewery in my hometown when I go to visit my family.
Oh, I hope they stay open, too. I was just making a little joke. I want most of the breweries in San Diego to be successful. It can only help all of us.
Nothing to see here. New place gets checked out by the powers that be, and an employee gets flustered. It happens.
haha that photo side note: ive been waiting for an undercover decoy to come in. not that i don't do my job properly, but im scared!
I was home last weekend, drove by it, but didnt have the time to stop in. Will definitely be stopping in at Easter.
I've been hit by an under cover before but luckily it was just someone my company hired to "test" us.
