In my experience breweries charge more for flights.

I had spent hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars Penzey's Spices over the years. We had one locally in town and bought all our spices there. And some mail order too.

In 2016 (and beyond) the CEO started sending out politically charged emails. Throwing insults around (racist, sexist, etc) if you didn't vote for the guy he liked. You can Google it, it wasn't just me, but I did stop shopping there. And my parents, and everyone else I ever knew.

I found a new place, and I don't know their politics. And I don't care. Just don't call me a racist or sexist or homophobe because I didn't vote the way you did.

But especially yes to this. I love drinking and talking politics w my friends who disagree. Can we get back to being able to disagree and still party together already?

Great job to everyone in this thread of all persuasions, all my thoughts on the matter have already been said (and said better than I as well).

Your point is valid regarding time = money.

If you can sell two pints in the time it takes to sell a flight, that’s probably far more profit for a brewery.

I recently stumbled upon the monstrosity known as music bingo while meeting a friend at a local brewery. The concept is that you get a bingo card, but instead of numbers, it has song titles. They then play a song and if the title of the song played is on your card you mark it off. The problem is that they play only 20-30 seconds of a song and immediately go into the next one. Short snippets, one after another. 15-20 minutes until a winner came forward. Drove me crazy. I'm the type that likes to hear a whole song and being subject to such short incomplete portions, it eventually just became one continuous loud noise. I shudder thinking about it.

Two things that urk me the most:

When a beer is poured to the very top of the pint glass and leaves no room for any head whatsoever. Like, come on. It doesnt make the beer look good IMO. How is it that all of Germany manages to use beer glasses that allow for head room on top of pouring you a full pint, but most American breweries think it is ok to just pour beer without any head and fill up the glass like its some type of lemon aid... huge turn off.

As many have said, excessively loud music.

Did they at least have Giant Jenga and/or Cornhole? Those instantly make a brewery awesome.

Driving back home from Florida several years ago, we stopped into some brewery (likely in NC) around the corner from our hotel for a beer. Place was in a giant warehouse, brewery in one corner, bar in another but most of the place was empty except for picnic tables and sports/game equipment. "Is this a brewery or one of those indoor sports joints?", we wondered.

Soon the place filled up with families, screaming kids, etc., (not a lot of beer being sold) and Cornhole being played. Now, I'd never seen or heard of this game but took an instant dislike to it. Trying to have a normal conversation or even just a quiet glass of beer in this warehouse-sized brewery with the constant BOOM ... BOOM ... BOOM of a beanbag hitting plywood echoing throughout the place was most annoying.

I once had a small town Austrian cop try to cite me for DWI while riding a bike from a brewery. I asked him if he really wanted to deal with an obnoxious American in his small town cell or follow me home to to hostel I was staying at. He thought about it, cursed a bunch in German and then said fine, take it slow down the hill. I tried to buy him a beer at the hostel, but he just cursed some more and told me to stop riding and drinking. I saw him the next day and did the touch your fingers to your nose while riding down a hill... I crashed into a a bush. He had a good laugh!
