I live currently in the South end of King County (WA) and work in Seattle. I don't have a car of my own (nor, really, a license) so I get around places by bus and bicycle. I don't have many beer drinking buddies in the area, so I'm wondering if people want to join up and do tours of breweries. In particular, I have a WABL passport that I would like to fill up by the end of the year to get some free swag and membership for the next year. I could go drinking alone, but drinking with like-minded folks is more interesting.
Can't help you with the SeaTac area SnowWolf75, but if you're ever down this way in PDX, shoot me a beermail, and I'll happily meet with you for a beer or three. And welcome to BA. Enjoy your time here. Cheers!
I appreciate your offer, but I don't get down that way very often (again, no car). Also, since I'm trying to get credit for Washington Beer Lovers membership, I need to visit breweries in WA. That being said, if I'm ever in PDX with a desire to drink some good brews, I'll look you up.
Completely agree with your thinking (check out the local landscape first, especially as there are a plethora of great local options). However, in time you may want to branch out a bit, and the beer scene in PDX is pretty terrific. You can always take the train or the BOLT bus to get down to PDX, and once you are here, PDX has a great public/mass transportation system (very easy to get around town, even if you don't have a car). Good luck and have fun.
I do own a car, but forego it for nearly all beer related excursions, hence my avatar. Odds are good you will see me around town, but I have decided my favorites and no longer feel the need to hit up every brewery in town. You'll find most to be easily accessible by bike. Enjoy the journey!
Well, eventually, to fill your passport, you'll need to hit Bellingham. When you do, let me know, and I'll be happy to show ya around town.
