Be aware - our idiot Governor just banned bar and food service past 10 pm today, because the covid comes out to play after 10pm. So have fun before 10pm.

Be aware - our idiot Governor just banned bar and food service past 10 pm today, because he legalized rioting, looting, arson, muggings, murder and street assault etc after 10pm. So have fun before 10pm or after 10pm depending what type of person you are.

This week was the worst on record for Covid cases and deaths, and hospitals are at max capacity...but yeah, closing bars at 10 pm is unfathomable overreach.

    IDK about overreach, just stupid.

Close them or don't close them, but mandating a 10 pm closing is just silly. I don't understand the logic of it at all. I can't imagine what the "science" is behind that.

because the under 35 crowd goes out drinking till bar closing. they don't show symptoms and spread it. I believe there is some truth to this. But it is winter now......... so they will adjust and just go out the bars earlier or have big illegal house parties instead. Result: the gain will be minimal and short lived. Plus they will be in the bars earlier with the over 35 crowd = not good

Closing them entirely is almost certainly the wisest decision. Still, don't think of this as a binary decision: it doesn't have to be a choice between shutting everything down and not shutting anything down at all. The idea is to reduce opportunities for spread. To that end, I think closing bars early makes a lot of sense. As it gets later (i.e., as people drink more), it's reasonable to assume that people will be less careful about distancing and other precautions.

I will never understand how acting like a reasonable human being has become so politicized. Refusing to wear a mask is not the modern-day equivalent of fighting the British at Concord, it's an anti-science choice that is drawing this slow motion crisis out.

If MN & other places can't get this under control, we're all going to be locked down in our homes again. And none of us want that.

@cheeseheadinMinneapolis I was only joking. Just wanted to join the argument. Poor attempt, sorry.

Back on topic though if it's not too late, @ryerson82

I recommend in Minneapolis Fair State, Town Hall and Utepils for sure.

Ok...sorry to cut in on the discussion but wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some places that are kicking ass right now with their beers in the Twin Cities area. I've got some favorites I may call on but I haven't been down for awhile. I have someone headed my way who can grab some crowlers or growlers for me. Would like to try some newer places maybe but only if they are good. Any thoughts on Forgotten Star?

I am not wanting any hazy IPA's....or sours...or pastry stouts....anything else is an option except maybe saisons....

I was not impressed with Forgotten Star. I would definitely stop at Falling Knife. They have 2 pilsner, a lager and a BA barleywine on and all are great.

I would also stop at Pig Ate My Pizza, they have tons of great styles on tap now, that are tasty.

    Close enough to MN:

Anyone know who the head brewer at Thirsty Pagan currently is? Seems Kathleen Culhane is now at Castle Danger.
