    What do home brewers like more ? A people's choice or a panel of judges ? With a people's choice you would have to bring enough for the "people" so you may have to part with a case or more ( depending on the amount of the people) to be judged. What sort of prizes are usually awarded ?

    I have done both, and prefer to have bjcp feedback. Alot of people say either "thats good" or "thats bad".

    BJCP sanctioned for the feedback.

    Every peoples' choice comp I've seen has resulted in lots of "friends" stuffing the ballot box

    People's choice can be fun but not something I would take seriously. Don't take that to mean BJCP feedback is superior though. I've received some pretty weak feedback from a few comp judges. This particular one I just had to have a bit of fun with;

    Prizes are usually just medals and maybe a gift card to the homebrew store or the honor of having your beer brewed by a commercial brewery.
