Brewing this weekend? Anyone?

    Golden Naked Oats are much different than standard oats. Will give you all the benefits of standard oats (body, head retention) with additonal flavor.

    Just now finished bottling my 1st attempt at a Double IPA. May have imparted a little more air than I'd like into the mix while racking, but fingers crossed....

    Question: Will the bitterness mellow out a bit while bottle conditioning ?

    I brewed a Smoked Rye IPA Saturday for an upcoming beer festival. A friend smoked 2-1/2 pounds of two row for me with applewood.

    2# pils dme, 2# wheat dme and 1# acid malt that was steeped, a simple Berliner weisse recipe.

    Brewed a partial-mash pumpkin ale today. Used some crystal 60L and Biscuit Malt via brew in a bag. Went very conservative on the spices. Plan on throwing in a halved vanilla bean during fermentation. Is racking onto the vanilla bean in a secondary necessary or would it be fine to throw it into the primary at some point during fermentation?
