Well I'm brewing a simple extract wheat beer, with a pack of elderberries in there. No idea what it'll come out like, but it's easy and I'm doing it tomorrow. Got the WY 3638 starter brewing up now. :grinning:

Bottled my benchwarmer IPA today. I think it's going to come out friggin' great! The gravity sample was spot on for taste and aroma, just needed carbonation. 1.014 FG.

Cascade Pale Ale this weekend for me. Western Washington State, perfect fermenting temp for an ale! Been in the low 70's here. Does great in my pantry. Cheers

Brewing my mid-summer classic: nut brown ale...setting the table for the fall brews...still light, refreshing, etc..but tilting toward the fall classics...crushed walnut added to boil, touch of brown sugar, mmmmmmm...

But all in under 1050 (1049 to be exact)...so you can drink in 85 degree weather and such...

What do you want it to taste like? You have some great options there but I don't know if you like fruity or dank or a combo, etc. personally I'd use the jade to bitter and strafe it the last 20 mins with FF and a LITTLE Columbus. Then hammer it with dry hops. How you get there, a lot of ways.

Had a few hiccups along the way but wound up hitting 79% extraction efficiency and 72% brew house efficiency today. Not too shabby for my 1st time lautering and batch sparging but I'm confident I'll get better.

That's great. I finished mine at 8 this morning. I ended up at 94% extract eff. Oops! I guess my bitter turned into a pale ale. Yours sounds like you hit right into the sweet spot of IPA.

Thanks! I was batch sparging and it was my first time doing any type of sparging....ever!

94% extraction efficiency? Although I've heard extracting that much of the sugars can have negative effects on the end products flavor, its still an impressive feat! Is it safe to assume you were fly sparging and you are very experienced at sparging?

P.S. Just re-read your original post stating you wer

Nope fat fingered my phone keyboard and autocorrect didn't save me. 84% extract eff. Batch sparge. 5 hr mash, since I woke up at 2 am, as usual, and decided to mash in for the morning boil. Never got to 100f though outside. Actually nice out.

Makes sense for a batch sparge and that % is what I hope to achieve on the regular in the near future! Glad your weather wasn't unbearable.

I brewed a DIPA and an IPA yesterday. 20 oz of boil hops used between the two batches and a shitload of grain. My inventory dropped significantly after a day like that. Time to restock! It was the first time I've brewed 2 different batches with two different mashes in one day. I'm going I rest today as I'm still feelin all the work I did. At least now I can relax and watch the open! Go Tiger!

I am getting ready to bottle my Raspberry wheat today. I loving drinking and brewing beer but I am starting to loathe bottling! It is time to start shopping for kegging equipment!!

Just finished up 5 gal each of a Vienna lager and a Amarillo Belgian Pale Ale. And bottled two batches from last week. It was a long day. I'm enjoying a Saison right now that I brewed back in April.
