Dawson and Jake Keeler are no longer at NB. Chip may have moved on, but I am not sure.

Edits- Chip is gone, read the comments.

As star raptor said chop and brew is the webisodes you wanna look into now. Keeler now works for BSG, Dawson wyeast, and chip summit beer co. Chop and brew is part homebrewing part food nerdery but is a fantastic watch none the less. If the last BTV episode is any indication as to what's to come for them I'm out. Dawson's blog is pretty awesome as well. http://thebeerengineblog.com/

Does anyone else equate this to when a brewery changes hands and the new ownership somehow screws up what was once a good place to get a brew? Going to miss the Dawson and Keeler version of a good series... Sad day citizens.

After reading this thread yesterday I watched the new episode. Man, it was pretty bad. I guess bad isn't the right word, more so disappointing. The old show was so well done and such a staple so it was a bummer to see it called Brewing TV. The opening theme song wasn't nearly as good either :slight_frown:

My thoughts exactly but seriously check out chop and brew. The most recent episode with Dawson brings back some awesome BTV memories.

I checked out the first few episodes when they came out and thought they were ok. This last one with Dawson was pretty good though. I like them all individually but the chemistry of all 3 was pretty awesome.

Really, I just think Dawson carries the show because he actually knows a lot about beer history and works well on camera. I like Chip, but I think he needs to have Dawson regularly on the show to have someone to interact with, which doesn't seem likely.

I'd rather watch a show with a sponsor than a sponsor with a show.

Dawson is very knowledgable on the beer front of sides and the food if you watch his blog, and I'm under the impression chip is more culinary than homebrew slightly. I find that homebrewing and cooking intertwind more than you think so I find an exceptional interest in chips webisodes. Alton Brown knows a lot about food but watch his homebrewing video on YouTube. It's beyond terrible. Check out old socks blog for more info/a rant on that. If you like making your own beer, youl like making your own food.... Period.

Dawson is a crucial part of BTV and I think youl find his blog highly informative and exciting. http://thebeerengineblog.com/

Dissing Alton Brown's homebrewing chops? That episode is pure entertainment. I have it permanently on my DVR, so that I can go back from time to time when I need a chuckle or two. End the end, though, he did make beer that he (apparently) enjoyed. Isn't that the goal?

I do read his blog, but its not quite the same as a 20+ minute episode of BTV including the editing and budget of the old BTV. I realize that homebrewing is a niche subsection of the niche section of people who are super into craft beer, so that it probably wasn't a financially sustainable model to be paying Chip, Jake and Mike to basically just film the series.

Making beer we enjoy is the point. But mis-information is something that can confuse the masses.... He called his late kettle additions dry hopping. Needless to say Alton should just keep to food.

Yea I agree. BTV will be greatly missed but hopefully a quality homebrewing show will be on regular tv. Not just the Internet.
