Brewmaster Jack

I've enjoyed several of their beers but I've had 4 different bottles (all different beers) that were either infected or had serious carbonation issues. I've stayed away from them since but hoping they've sorted out some of those issues.

 

I actually don't think I've had a Brewmaster Jack beer since I've had Good Sense. It's definitely a combination of the carbonation issues and the fact that dated bottles sit on the shelves.

Hoppiness is a warm pun was definitely my favorite IPA from them.

 

What I've heard about the over carbonation issue was that they realized the bottles were gushing after they got to market. They recalled it and gave the distributor their money back and told them to pull all the bottles of the shelves and destroy them. Some stores complied with this and sent the beer back to the distributor and some didn't. Instead of destroying the beer the distributor got back they sold it to other stores.

 

Nice to see Brewmaster Jack in RI. Offerings I saw in my store were Hoppiness is a Warm Pun and Good Sense for IPAs, and Tennessee Prinse 4-packs

 

Where did you see it in RI? I see them at Yankee in Attleboro and Gasbarro's in Seekonk, but every time I see them, they are 3-4 months old.

 

I really like their Stray Dog Lager. A solid Vienna, and severely underrated beer overall.

 

Sandy's Liquors in Middletown is where I saw it, but I also saw on Nikki's Liquors facebook page that they also received a shipment. The Hoppiness bottles in the cooler were dated 3/7/16.

 

It sucks now.

 

The hoppy offerings are solid and near and dear is a great under the radar stout
