Anyone have any experience with this service? Looks interesting especially if I can get stuff that isn't sold at my local shops.

I think that's the issue with the service for me. It seems to be beers you can get from your local bottle shops. I haven't seen many posts of anything other than that. I think it's more of a convenience for people that walk into a store and don't know where to start. It would be a great service for newbies and people that just don't have the time to shop themselves.

I went ahead and signed up. Once I get my first shipment I will update this thread with my thoughts.

Much like buying music, a great deal of my enjoyment in beer buying is going to the shop, talking to shopkeepers and fellow patrons, and having a beer while browsing. Add in that I cant check dates when buying, and it's not a fit for me.

It's an interesting model. Lateralus, I believe they keep their own stock, so they supposedly have pretty fresh beer.
This would be good for the beginner or early stage craft drinker, as mentioned. They could go to the bottle shops and ask for recs, but this is a fun, alternative way that is a bit less intimidating.
It's not for most of the people on BA - we know the brands and styles and know what we like.

They just launched in the Triangle too, so I'm curious what the feedback is/will be.

But to @lateralusbeer's point, there's nothing better than drinking a beer while perusing shelves.
