I live in Southeastern PA and have been to Victory, Yards, Troegs and Sly Fox brewpubs. My friends and I like to grab a bite to eat while trying new good beer. What are some other breweries in the north east part of the country that have a brewpub worth checking out? I am willing to travel a few hours.

Selinsgrove and Pizza Boy/Al's of Hampden spring immediately to mind for the Harrisburg area.

It's been awhile but if you out near Pittsburgh stop by Rivertowne Pour House in Monroeville. They usually have a huge selection of their own brews and had some really good stuff.

If you haven't been to Tired Hands in Ardmore, PA, I would think that should be at the top of your list. The only trouble is you'll keep coming back for more since Jean and crew keep brewing new, different beer every week. Great saisons, hoppy ales, dark ales, etc., etc. The menu is local, creative, and accessible.

Forest and Main in Ambler and Stoudt's in Adamstown are two of my favorites

Tired Hands, Earth Bread, and Chestnut Hill Iron Hill are the ones I go to the most. Earth Bread has my favorite menu of the three.

Edit: Forgot about Forest and Main. Nothing flashy, just very good English and Belgian style beers.

Awesome thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely be trying these out over the next couple months

Not knowing your exact location; about 2 1/2 hours from Philly and you are in The Hudson Valley area of NY.

Peekskill: food and brews (Chief and crew are bringing down the shizneetz there, and the food is equally as amazing), this should satisfy your brewpub portion of the inquiry but to maximize your visit also check out/visit:

Cpt. Lawrence: Mr Vaccaro is also a freak (local food trucks on site on occasion too)
Crossroads: way over looked, Hutch is no joke either, love their ipa. Have not been, but get to try their brews from time to time when in Albany area.

Not sure if you've been thru Williamsport? Been to Bull Frog twice and really enjoyed that place. Edgar is pretty damned legit IPA.
Have yet to visit Selins Grove, but I don't think it's far from Williamsport area and, seemingly, is a recommended visit.

I have always been a fan of The Ship Inn in Milford, NJ, great place, great area. One of the things I miss about NJ.

Selins Grove is an amazing little brepub, Food is delicious and I at least liked every single one of their beers ( and their IPA is one of the best non-imperial IPAs I've ever had)

Selin's Grove is probably my all time favorite brewpub.

The wings are pretty good, too. Always surprised me considering they have a mainly British themed menu.

Prism Brewery in North Wales, PA and Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. in Croydon, PA.
    also Riverhorse in Lambertville, NJ.

I've been to Prism, awesome atmosphere with very unique brews. NC is one of the best in the area in my opinion.
Haven't had a chance to check out Riverhorse. I don't think they have a bar/pub in the brewery but you can take tours.

I've been to Prism too and do find the vibe to be nicely off beat and low key but I don't know what others see in their beer. Maybe its just not for me but I haven't had a thing from them that I find to be passable...to each their own I guess!

I'm with you. Prism is passable at best. Their brewpub/tasting room isn't that great either, especially when you have Round Guys, Iron Hill, and Forest and Main relatively close by.
