from their website, less about meat beating than you think...

A few weeks later, in September of 1993, we incorporated as Indian Peaks Brewing Company, in honor of the serrated ridges and jagged peaks of the Indian Peaks wilderness that you can see nearby. Then the search for the location was on from Golden to Loveland. In November of that year, home became a former meat packing plant nestled next to the St. Vrain River near downtown Longmont. In just a few weeks, the brewery was starting to take shape, labels were being produced, and kegs and bombers were purchased. The place was hopping. However, the euphoria was quickly sidelined when a conflict of interest surrounding the brewery name surfaced. Indian Peaks was being used by another brewery for a beer style. So, not wanting to start off on the wrong foot, we quickly changed the name of the company to Left Hand, in honor of Chief Niwot, whose tribe wintered in the local area. (The name Left Hand is derived from the southern Arapahoe word “Niwot” meaning left hand.)

Sounds like a a complicated way of throwing us off the scent...Too many examples of meat beating euphemisms for it to all be a coincidence.

Nearly anything from Against the Grain. Aside from Shart Pants aka Shit Jeans, they have such gems as:

Chamomile Tow, Hoppy Endings, Golden Sower, Kentucky Ryed Chicken, An Ale Pleasure, Citra Ass Down, etc

How they get away with some of these boggles the mind but they make some good brews so they need to keep doing their thing.

I don't know if people can look it up but Darkhorse brewery is bringing 99 beers to the MBG summer beer fest in Yipsilati, MI and many of those beers have great names. A couple of my favorites: Smells Like a Saftey Meeting, Über Boober (cream ale made with baby formula), Peaches and Creme in my Pants creme ale, Maple Belgian Waffles with no Chicken Brown Ale.

I only discovered berr advocate a couple years ago. Before that, without rating and reviews, I based a lot of beer choices on name. First time I saw Blithering Idiot I had to try it. More recently Ibought a bbottle of Hoptimus Prime just because I loved the name. My new favorite name is Hopsphyxiation. I will want one just for the name. Have you ever bought a beer just because you thought the name was great?
