Now that everyone has made it home to shower and put their muddy boots on the porch, what was everyone's favorites?

For me it was the sours and stouts.

    1) FV13 from Allagash
    2) Jester King's Funk Metal
    3) 2009 Blackbeerd (yarrggh!)
    4) WnB Cask with Cherries
    5) Sexual Chocolate
    6) Holy City More Chocolate, More Problems

No bitching about the mud, we all knew it would happen. What were everyone's highlights or lowlights?

I also think that number 4 sounds like a winner, sorry to miss it but at least you got a box from me so I guess I was there in spirit.

It looked like Woodstock down there. Did I hear something about mud fights? Still jealous of that beer list though. Keep the details coming...

This may come as a shock to many of y'all but it was only dudes with no shirts wrasslin' in the mud. One of the long-haired hippies slung mud into my Holy City Barrel Aged Pecan Dream.

    Funky Buddha killed it.

    Sweet Potato Casserole
    Don't Tell Reese
    Maple Bacon Coffee Porter

    All were right on point.

    Graffiti Orange from 7eventh Sun
    Brandy Barrel-Aged Sour Lil'B
    Harry Magill's Spiced Stout

At least the rain stopped at some point, but by then, mud was everywhere.

I didn't get to go to Brewvival, despite living 15 minutes away, but I did go down to Holy City and took advantage of their Brewvival releases. Got me a growler of Notorious PIG: Mo' chocolate, Mo' problems, and a growler of the Bourbon Barreled Pecan Dream. Good stuff indeed.

My favorite was the Bell's BA Batch 9000 - so damn good. Also, everything I tried from Funky Buddha was fab!

It was so cool to be able to talk to Chad from NoDa - excellent insights on what he does and wants to do.

Thanks to all the breweries who made the trek!

Did anyone see the dude in the orange Arc'teryx jacket who passed out for hours while on his phone?

That was my favorite, along with all the Funky Buddha beers. I am sad I didn't get to try everything I wanted to, but it was hard to focus with all the rain and mud. That said, this was still one of the best Brewvivals yet. Diggity Doughnuts killed it in the food department. Sriracha and peanut butter, along with blueberry an blue cheese were amazing.

Ted's Wagyu beef panini absolutely destroyed it, in the food department.

One thing I wanted to try that I didn't get to, was the Smuttynose Strawberry Short Weiss.

Way too many dudes wrestling in the mud. The only female involve was a very short match with some girl and her boyfriend. Not that exciting. I didn't see any fights, just friendly wrestling matches. The was one guy passed out along the back fence for hours. I was shocked at how well this event was set up. There were very short lines for the potties, food was abundant, and people were in high spirits. The only thing I would change is the food truck being boxed in, because the lines were very crowded in there. I also wish there were 2 diggity doughnut trucks, cause they were very popular.

LOL, no I missed that Julian, but I did see the mud slinging idiot hipster dude get wrestled the hell out by the BIG bouncer dudes as I was leaving. Highlights for me, meeting the great S.C. beer folks, the pre-Brevival bottle share @ the cookie monsters place, visiting 1 of my top 5 beer meccas that I wanted to see before I become dust to dust (Westbrook), seeing some of my Tar Heel (and Cubbies) new/old friends, bowing down in front of Funky Budda and CCB's tents (2 other meccas I want to visit before I crook), the great crowd, the sponsors of Brewvival, and being able to hold my taster glass towards the sky and getting it rinsed. A hell of a great weekend. Amazed, Exhausted, and Greatfull to everyone that I was able to BS and/or share a brew with. You guys/gals down in the southern Carolina have your shit together and I humbly tip my Team Redneck hat unto you all. If you are ever up in the northern Carolina please do not hesitate to drop me a line, I'd love to share a great malted fermented beverage with any and all of you. Best Wishes, Gary aka Red Neck Beerz

As always it was great to meet so many out-of-state BA's. Due to the efforts of many people (esp. the crew at COAST) South Carolina's beer scene has exploded. Seven years ago an event of this magnitude would have been just a dream. We love to have people come and let them see how far we have come.

I will say that even with the rain this was probably the best Brewvival so far. I appreciate the event sponsors stepping up and addressing the small issues from last year. Their changes were successful in that area.

For me the rain was a plus. Like many I was fixated on many of the more hyped Breweries. Rather than stand in the initial long lines in "the deep end" I went to many of the less hyped Breweries in the dry area. I was able to try some wonderful beers that I would have otherwise missed. To the benefit of everyone at the Festival, I didn't hear a single person complain about the mud.

Again the highlight for me was Funky Buddha. Since last years Festival I have had the opportunity to try many of their beers. I did stand in line for "Don't Tell Reese" which was outstanding.

Had a great time and can't wait until next year!

Dude, that Wagyu beef Panini was the freaking balls! It may have been as good as any sandwich I've ever had.

Redneck - was that you all over the place with the Bonnie Blue cape? Before the gates opened, dude just stood in the middle of the field, watching everyone in line and smiling. Funny.
