No, I usually just drink from the bottle or use the (most likely) pint glass they have on hand

I haven't but I'd be a liar if I said the thought didn't go through my mind as I drank Torpedo from a Solo cup for the 100th time.

I would if I deem it necessary, like they don't have a decent glass to drink from, that being said there is usually a wine glass that will suffice.

generally i don't, unless i'm also bringing a special bottle.

like i went to a bbq with my brother to his friend's house and i brought over some norcal sours (rare barrel 'forces unseen', mraz 'ferus', russian river 'framboise for a cure' and high water 'le petite diablotin') i thought he and his wife would appreciate, but i was also really interested in trying them myself and wanted the full experience. some might say snobby, but i say preferential. i kind of treated it like a bottle share (which i usually bring my own taster glass)

for the most part i don't really care and usually drink right from the bottle / can

I've never done it simply because I never think to but if you're bringing your own beer I see nothing wrong with bringing your own glass. There's nothing snobbish about it

Honestly, the thought has never even crossed my mind. Great beer is great beer, be it from can, bottle or red plastic cup.

I've brought my own glassware with other craft drinkers but never to drink with other non-craft drinkers. I think it's snobby, that would be like bringing your own silverware to someone else's house who has invited you to dinner. And I am willing to use any reasonable glassware even out of the bottle or can.

On the whole, no, but I have been known to gift friends a pair of tulips or chalices once I've gotten them into craft beer.

To each their own but I have never done that nor do I plan to. Cheers!

These threads make me question spending time on this site. Sorry but I think bringing your own glassware is silly, pretentious and worst of all - rude.

The original poster is really short on details here, context, all that sort of stuff, never mind spelling... who are you with, where are you going, do you know these people... are these your friends I mean huh?

If you are invited to some place as a guest with no preconceived notions, you don't know the people very well, its rather informal... then yeah don't bring glassware that's just tacky.

I'll drink from a juice glass and be as happy as a pig in you know what! Taking glassware anywhere is to my mind very pretentious, if not insulting.

No. That seems like an unnecessary thing to do. They'll have some sort of glass I can use.

Last night Will and I (sixth generation William Gordon) were staring at a bottle of Achel Extra, needing some nice glasses. We dug through my stuff and came up with two Smuttynose Big Beer Series tulips that were perfect. My dear wife just puts up with the glasses that just seem to mushroom.

If I'm going to a place I know won't have different types of glassware, I'll just bring a beer that can either be drank from the can or poured into a pint glass.
