When I go to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, I'll usually pack my cooler of beer, a bottle opener, and a pint glass. Reasons for this are two fold.

    1) It's a family thing and other people are there drinking too. Juice, soda, water, milk, brandy, wine, beer, and everything else. My grandma only has so many glasses and I don't wanna end up being the guy drinking my bomber/growler/whatever out of the bottle.

    2) My grandma always makes extravagant meals with plenty of dirty dishes to follow. When I'm done, I rinse my dirty glass, toss it back in my cooler, bring it home with me, and wash it myself. No need for me to add to the pile of dishes that need to be washed.

That being said, if I'm just going to a friend's house for a few beers, I don't bring a glass.

You guys are taking this way too seriously! I was just at a tailgate party drinking Ten Fidy out of a red plastic cup...still tasted great. This is beer man!

When it comes to glassware, I'm pretty content with a shaker pint. But I wouldn't even travel to a friend's with one of those. I don't know anyone that doesn't have at least one shaker pint on hand. Even if they didn't, I'm fine with out of a red plastic cup or out of the bottle/can if need be.

I don't bring a snifter, but not out of embarrassment. I don't want it to be broken/left behind I have a bad habit of forgetting glassware and beers at the end of the evening. Also, should whatever I bring break, I don't want it to be my go-to snifter. Me and that glass have had a lot of beers together.

True, very true. I'd take a plastic cup over the can itself in most cases. BEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!

I love to eat at this Smokehouse near one of my favorite breweries. It is BYOB. So yes. I do bring my own glassware to enjoy my beer out of. However this is the only instance where I do. I kind of feel like a douche bringing my own glass but find it worth it in this instance.

Generally I'll just try to find a brew that I am perfectly OK with drinking out of the can/bottle.

I mainly do this because they don't charge a corkage fee, so I feel like I am not causing them any additional work for allowing me to bring in my own beer/wine.

We go to the beach for July 4 every year. I usually bring some bombers/growlers to be enjoyed at the resort pool. Since you can't have glass at the pool/beach I ordered a plastic tulip to drink the beers out of. Thought it was a great plan... until every single person at the pool was constantly telling me I couldn't have glass at the pool (it did look like glass). After a few days of dirty looks and people constantly coming to tell me I couldn't have glass I left it in the room and drank from a solo cup lol. I do use that plastic tulip a lot more around the house and at neighbors houses though. I try to do it more to make their lives easier in not having to do my dishes or clean up after me. Really glad I bought the plastic tulip.

Never have. But most people have at least a wine glass.
I could see it spurring some douche shivers in others who may not get it though.

Any friend who doesn't have proper glassware on hand is not going to be serving (or requesting) beers that need said proper glassware, and likewise, I won't be bothering to bring those beers to their house. I can do just fine drinking Yuengling or the big regional flagship beers we've all had out of a bottle or Solo cup.

My friends are more important than a glass or beer. A great beer may not have all the nuances without a proper glass, but that won't make it a drainpour. Pop a top and enjoy.

No, because I don't need to go perpetuating the snobbish stereotypes about craft drinkers. Lower yourself when among the plebeians.

Hell, I've drank it out of a can and it tasted fine. Some people try way too hard at drinking beer.
