Hey everyone. Newbie poster here. Going up to Snowbird, UT for a snowboarding trip and wanted to bring some good beers along with me. Anyone have any trouble before transporting beer from out of state? We will be heading over from San Diego, CA. Thanks
You just need to make sure you have a black Trans Am running as a blocker. In all serious though, I have never had an issue bringing beer across state lines - including into Utah.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. I was just snowboarding at Snowbird last weekend, and I brought a bunch of beer with me in my luggage on the airlines from out of state. Utah can be pretty weird with some of their beer laws, but I don't think they are seizing out-of-state beer prohibition-style.
The only people they look for are people leaving areas like Evanston, WY and Grand Junction, CO with Utah license plates. I brought 200+ beers with me from Michigan and have been actively trading since I got here with no issues whatsoever. If you wanted to set up a trade I might be down with that if you wanted. I hear there's good beer in SD!
As long as it's not sitting on the dashboard or on the deck behind the back seat, I don't think there's anything to be worried about. My suggestion is to put it in the trunk so it keeps cold and ready to enjoy.
