Well, at the end of August I'll be packing up my car with clothes, books, and beer and moving to Davis for grad school. I'll have a cellar with a few special Minnesota goodies (2014 Darkness, Pentagram, Eight, Lift Bridge BA Silhouette), but I also plan on bringing some more easily acquired MN and WI brews with me. Anybody in the area interested in meeting up to try some MN/WI brews or do some trades? Any requests for stuff to bring? My space is limited but if you've been craving some Surly, New Glarus, or other tasty stuff, I can try to fit it in the car. Hoping to meet some fellow BAs in the area!
Always down for fresh Surly offerings, and have only had Spotted Cow so I'd be down for some of New Glarus's other offerings. Planning to bring back some East Coast stuff from a trip to Boston (returning the 21st) so perhaps we can meetup for mutual benefit. Also, I'll be climbing in Bend from the 31st through Labor Day, so will have some OR treats as well in September (mmmm, Boneyard!). I work on campus so hit me up once you hit town. Cheers
Sounds great, I'll be sure to bring some Surly and some other NG goodies. I should have a good Cali-MN pipeline going in the future as well. I'll definitely shoot you a message when I get here in the fall! Nope, though that was once a thought I was kicking around. I'm entering the Graduate Group in Ecology.
There are some good beer guys in Davis, @shortysdude285 is one of them. Let me know when your coming out! We host bottleshares in the Sacramento area pretty often. And please visit Sudwerk and Davis Beer Shoppe. Davis is a cool place. It's not a crazy college town.
I'd love some Enigma, Serendipity, Strawberry Rhubarb, hell... pretty much anything from NG except the standard Raspberry or Cherry. Happy to show you around a little whenever you make it out.
Sounds great, thanks man! Yeah, the Beer Shoppe was one of the highlights of my visit in February. I'd be lying if I said it didn't factor into the decision a tiny bit... Shouldn't be too hard to bring some of those out! Thanks for the offer man, I'll be sure to hit you up then. Alright, double-underlined those ones on my shopping list.
Just going to miss out on Davis Beer Week but Davis is such a cool town. Beer Shoppe, UoB, Woodstock's pizza. And if you are going to the next R&D release and have a Bramble Berry Bourbon Barrel to trade/share, i'll be here
The Sudwerk dock store is KILLING it right now with some amazing beers. Highly recommended. (I live in Vacaville) If you're driving through Colorodo to get here... that opens other possibilities. Cheers, drive safe!
Ahhhh, unfortunately I'll be missing the next release! Fortunately, it's because I'll be deep in canoe country in northern Minnesota. Thanks man, I'm excited for Davis! I'll have to check out Sudwerk, didn't get a chance to try any of their stuff yet. I'll actually be stopping in Fort Collins on the way out here at the end of August...
Any chance you're gonna bring some Todd the Axeman? Also, if you're already here I have some week-old Trillium stuff right now. Leaving for Bend on the 29th.
Hello all! I have made it to Davis with all the beer intact. I have some Toppling Goliath, a bunch of New Glarus, and some Minnesota goodies. I'd love to do a bottle share sometime soon, anyone down? I have a few beer geek friends from my grad program and elsewhere, and I'd love to get some of you BAs involved as well. I've heard DeVere's doesn't have a corkage fee and allows for stuff like this. I know the Beer Shoppe has a small corkage fee and has been cool with me bringing my own bottles before. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm down, though I've killed all my Boneyard and Trillium stuff already. But I'm sure I can find something in the cellar. I usually give my business to Taylor (DBS), but no location preference on my end.
I'm definitely down to hit the Shoppe as well, I've had many stellar experiences there. Anybody free to meet up this Friday? I'm planning on driving to RR for Z-day on Saturday, so I could possibly do Sunday too.
