    Hey friends.

I'm travelling to NZ for two weeks to visit my sister and I want to bring bottles to NZ.

To share. With NZ people who can't get access to them.

How is NZ customs? Can I just bring in 4-6 bottles in a Styrofoam shipper? Is there a fee I have to pay? Any tips on where to start would be great. Mostly because sometimes there's rules I can miss just from googling.

    Thanks!

Ideas of things to bring in my sixer (since from what i can see) I can only bring 4.5 liters. (roughly 6 bombers or 750 mls)

    • Cantillon Lou Pepe '12
    • The Bruery Black Tuesday
    • Alpine Beer Nelson
    • Cigar City Hunaphu
    • Goose Island - BCBS '12
    • One more sour.... not sure which.

NZL do get Cantillon, or at least they did 18 months ago.

Good idea with Nelson, given its a popular hop variety in NZL.

Stouts or barleywines are good as there aren't that many over there and for most, the NZL stuff in those styles isn't great.

Check out www.beerstore.co.nz to see what stuff, most grey imports, makes it there.

Maybe Cuvee de Tomme or Pugachevs Cobra, Parabola, Sucaba, Merkin etc?

Between myself and my girlfriend we took about 40 bottles to NZ, had an Epic time (pun intended) with the Epic guys. Shouldnt be any problems at all.

    edit:
no fees or anything. and they were all just wrapped in clothes and such. we did get secondary screened, but again, no problems. The secondary screening was not beer based though. it was because I put that I was in Hong Kong before the trip down and they wanted to check for dirt on my boots. yeah, they are strict on dirt. lol.
