I have a British friend who grew up on Banks's Mild, a dark British Mild. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/6695/71873/ now he's in NYC and can't find any. Anyone know who has a Mild in NYC? I've had no luck and could go for a Pale Mild or a Dark Mild at this point. any help would be great. thank you! -graham reynolds
The dark milds I frequently see in NYC are: Celt Experience Dark Age Goose Island Mild Winter Wandering Star Mild at Heart I've only had one pale mild in NYC, but that was at a cask beer festival at dba Brooklyn organized by Alex Hall, who is a partner at Wandering Star Craft Brewery. Pale mild is a very hard style to find here.
Of the following beers, I've tried some but not all. These are draught only. Wandering Star Mild at Heart is the easiest to run into... It's often on somewhere. Besides their Incredible Mild, Sixpoint also has Growler Darrrk - and it looks like it's always available at The Growler Bites And Brews. I haven't seen Brooklyn's Dial M for Mild in a while. Keep your eyes open for Barrier's Mollycoddle / Molly Coddle.
They have bottles of Yards Brawler Pugilist Style Ale at Giannone Wine & Liquor in Hoboken. It isn't that far of a walk from the PATH station.
