Gonna be checking this place out on Saturday, pretty excited. Also -- is Boxcar Deli a good breakfast spot and the local Buy Rite a good place to scoop some beers? I'm going into Brooklyn from upstate, so I don't wanna veer far out of the area Brix City/Alementary are in at all.
Went to Brix, was impressed with both beers. Had the Cuvee (no. 3 I think) and Space Tacos. Cool space too. Got a bacon, egg and cheese from Boxcar and I might be the most monstrous BEC I've ever had. Delicious, too. Buy Rite was kind of a dud. Small selection, most of which I can get easily in upstate NY. Only things they had single cans/bottles of was, like, Evil Twin and Sierra Nevada. Did score a 375 of Mure Tilquin though, which I was pretty happy with.
From Brix City Brewing FB Page... **SILK CITY RELEASE** This Year we will be releasing Silk City on Saturday March 2nd. This years variants will be as follows; Bourbon Barrel Aged Bourbon Barrel Aged w/ Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cognac Barrel Aged Bourbon Barrel Aged on Papua New Guinea Coffee Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged w/ Cinnamon & Vanilla
Got a couple bottles last year. Some variants went pretty quickly I think. Enjoyed the ones I did get. Brix City is definitely starting to get noticed in the NJ brewery scene so I assume this year’s will go even faster.
They cut limit on vanilla last year to 1pp after half the line and then they didn’t sell out out the bottles with the line anyway.
I have a bad habit of going to the same places quite a bit. Or going when places open and not heading back after time Went to Brix City for first time in what seems to be 2 1/2 years. Cant believe its been that long. Pleasantly surprised. What I had today was much better than what I had that long ago. Will have to get back much sooner next time.
Which of their canned offerings (that are NOT NEIPAs) do you all recommend? I see them in distro but usually pass.

Went to Brix City for the first time in probably a year and a half due to the can lineup. Nice to be able to buy a kolsch (collab with Conclave no less!), lager, a few different pale ales, a session IPA and two regular IPAs 7% and under. So many other local places (not all, I know) seem to be just cranking out mostly DIPAs and dessert stouts right through the summer months. I love Other Half but man, every beer is 8.5-14.5% this summer! Brix City doesn’t quite measure up to Other Half’s best IPAs but the variety was nice and all were enjoyable. Plus the 4 packs were all fairly cheap. Nice
