I dropped a beer glass last week Luckily half of the base of the glass was the ONLY part that broke. The rest of it is fine. I was wondering if any of you know of a useful remedy for this broken piece so I can continue using this glassware.
That is a strange break. Maybe buy a rubber/plastic coaster (even wood perhaps?) and glue it to the remaining base? Then you have a built in coaster! Not sure if that would work, but it was my first thought haha.
Honestly, I would be far to anal to continue using this glass. Depending on who's glass it is and how difficult it is to find, I would be looking to replace it. It appears to have a very thick base and I guess gluing the remaining pieces might work but, I could never get pass the look afterwards, and would simply seek out another glass of the same make. Sorry to read about your glass man....bummer.
Glass repairs are possible to be made but I don't know how severe a break can be before nothing can be done. Check with a reputable antique shop to see if they know of any glass restoration experts. I have a feeling the cost won't be to your liking though.
Was this a branded glass that can't be replaced or plain stock glass? If plain glass just can it and get another..
Dude, just take another picture of the whole glass. Let us see it, if I have a double, I'll send it to you.
