I just broke my favorite glass. No reason at all, I was going to rinse it out in the sink and *crash* I also lost one of my favorite shaker pints while I was washing it by hand -- it slipped and Game Over. Anyone else relate? Photos are welcome. I guess I'll be plunking down another $4 on Free State's website. Loved that glass :slight_frown:

I broke a carboy yesterday. It's made of glass and beer-related so I think it counts haha

Broken glasses should be buried in the backyard with all the respect and honor they deserve. Goodbye old friend.

Has anyone ever had a commercial bottle of beer shatter from pressure? (I don't mean home-brewed beer). This has never happened to me but I've always wondered if it may occur occasionally.

I went through a period before Christmas where I broke several glasses. Very frustrating!

A little drama for BA. My best friend just moved his girlfriend into our house. I accidentally chipped her favorite coffee mug. I found 5 pint glasses by the sink for cleaning all stacked into one. It was like she stacked them all up and pushed down on the top one to crack them all...Idk if it was coincidence or what, but a bad day yesterday for the pint game!

Tripped while carrying my laptop to my coffee table causing it to land on my Great Lakes 25th anniversary tulip (with the sick silver rim) and shatter everywhere. To add insult to injury a few weeks later I apparently missed a piece of glass in the carpet during cleanup and walked on it, slicing my big toe.

Broke a Lost Abbey teku. Was putting it away and it just split after I accidentally knocked against another glass.

One of my kids broke my Ayinger Brau Weis glass. I freaked like Ralphy's dad when the leg lamp broke. Dagnabit Blah!
Now I need to get a new glass and a new kid.

I had a La Fin Du Monde tulip sitting upside down in the sink on a dish rack and bumped the base of it with another glass. It caused the base to shear clean off. There must have been a flaw in the glass as I didn't bump it very hard.

Was chilling a bottle of Samuel Adams Thirteenth Hour on a enclosed porch and forgot about it. It was left on the porch over night and froze. Woke up to a broken bottle.:slight_frown:

    See below or this thread:

Luckily, mine was in a beer case on the floor with the rest of my on-deck beers, so it just left a puddle on the floor and all the glass was right there. It broke all over, but the cap is still attached to the neck portion. I still haven't had that beer yet because of it.

Thanks, interesting thread. In 40 years including in the early days of carrying unfiltered bottles from breweries with not a lot of experience, I've never had a bottle burst even when transporting them in the trunk, warm weather, etc. I've dropped the odd bottle of course. One time I dropped it and bounced back up from a wood floor right into my hand!
