Yea several bottles of Boulevard's Quad. It wasn't that great anyway. Tasted too yeasty, and not the good kind of Belgian yeasty... I wonder why?

Went to Al's of Hampden (the original Pizza Boy location) with a friend. On his first beer of the day, said friend dropped glass and was told by Al that he would have to leave because "if you break a glass here, you're cut off for the day". My friend left and I told Al as I was leaving that he (friend) had a touch of arthritis and would hope that he could come back for a beer sometime soon. Fast forward to a year or so and Al was pouring a beer and... You guessed it! Glass on floor! Of course being the smart ass that I am, I said, "Al, I guess this means you have to leave, huh?" Karma baby, karma.

I broke a New Belgium goblet while attempting to shake the moisture out of it. I was sitting on the couch. I swung it one time. Heard a crash and came back with just a stem and shards. It had hit a kids toy that I didn't know was right next to the couch.

Thankfully I don't have many stories like this (and I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that), but two memorable ones come to mind. The first is not terrible, but I had a brand new spiegleau tulip break in the dishwasher, it was a Christmas present from my mom, and needless to say I hand wash all beer glassware now. The second was me being young, drunk, and super "intelligent". I was back in my college town at a hotel with my gf and trying to open beer bottles for us. I forgot to bring an opener and the hotel didn't have one, so I smartly resorted to a mix of car keys and adjustable wrench. Worked great for 5 of the 6, then on that last one, I got overall zealous with the wrench, thought the cap came off when it was actually the top of the bottle, started foaming up so I took a big swig, spit out the foamy beer, and blood as well!! Felt like a dumbass because the GF freaked out, but we kept drinking and it was fine. I feel bad for all the broken glass in this thread, as I still feel bad about that spiegleau tulip.

I seriously have a tendency to break every nice glass I get my hands on and even ones that aren't so nice so I've stopped using the nice glassware I buy and just have it for display or for the very special occasional use. First one I remember was breaking my Stone Enjoy by 4-20, 4-piece set within 3 weeks of each other. Then at least three nice snifters I purchased. Then my Founders pint glass. and most recently (and saddest of all), managed to let go of my 2015 Bourbon County snifter while I was (aggressively) shaking it to dry. My friends even know me for this clumsiness, so they refuse to let me use their nice glassware, which I can understand :/

I have broken 2 glasses since I moved to Florida in July 2015. One being a Cuvee style Dollar Tree glass, no big deal there.
The other one is the one that really pisses me off! It was a Surly Tulip that @jzeilinger picked up for me when he was at the brewery last year.

I foolishly rinsed it out and put it on the island, next to the paper towels and when I pulled a paper towel off to dry the glass out with....BOOM all over the floor, I tried to catch it with my foot before it hit the ceramic tile floor...

Yeah, I still miss that glass.

I bought a paulener liter stein once. Brought it home, grabbed it out of the bag and received a glass splinter and a slice across my knuckles.

I just recently broke my snifter. But i already replaced it with a Duvel glass.

Several years ago before I had more glassware, I had a Guinness Pint collector's edition with the triple colored Ostrich image adorning it, and in an act of stupidity I swung my arm to grab my ringing phone and knocked it off the table. Breaking the glass on my hard wood floor and spilling a Stone stout in the process.

There was a time when I was packing clothes and glasses (yup, in the same case, but I've tested it before and it always worked) to leave to college and suddenly my mom wanted to help me and we tried to place two glasses in the same spot inside the case.

Duvel glass won by knockout against a Chimay glass.

Well last night was a sad night in the glass world. My go to glass I use probably daily from the great brewery or "ex brewery" Pretty things" broke last night! :slight_frown: Just thought I'd share wow sad this is!!! As they are no longer obtainable.

The saddest one, my late-grandfather's oversized snifter, which was my absolute favorite. It was big enough to fit in my huge hands comfortably!

The funniest one, it was a late summer night, windows were open, and my neighbors were in clear sight of my kitchen window having a bonfire. Myself, already quite a few drinks deep, with nothing on except underwear, needed a new glass. I tried to quickly and stealthily fly by the window, to avoid them or their children seeing me scantily clad. Stealthily, maybe not. With the motion of grabbing my IPA glass, so went the whoooole glassware collection. The sound was ENORMOUS, and their once-jovial conversations quickly fell dead silent as I hid out of view, trying to stifle my drunken laughing. A few remained in tact, but I did lose some nice wine glasses and a pint glass or two.

I wasn't even upset for some reason. The hilarity of it all made up for the grief.
