In my zeal to drink another IPA, I pressed down too hard on the picnic tap and it snapped off the lever - the two plastic nubs that hold it to the spring loaded valve broke. For $3.50, I can order a replacement tap from MW Supplies, but I won't be doing that until I brew more beer (which, alas, may not be soon ). Using a vise grip, I was able to pull the valve open to get another beer, but that's a two handed operation - leaving no hands to hold my glass. Quite a balancing act. I'll want to MacGyver a solution that will last me the next quarter of a keg or so. Any tips?
PM me your mailing address. I have 3 picnic faucets that I'm not using. Otherwise some superglue and half of a clothes pin?
Thanks for the offer, but I don't think it's worth your expense. I'll figure something out to get me to the end of this keg and will order a new one with the ingredients of the next batch I brew. The superglue /close pin idea might be worth a try.
