Above is a link to their Facebook page with their drafts/food list. It also shows the specials for football on Sunday. Anyone going this weekend? Has anyone gone in the past, how packed does it get on a Saturday night?

    Five gravity kegs.....awesome.

I wouldn't be concerned about the crowds on Sat. night. Sounds like an awesome event,

I thought this place was pretty popular? Why wouldn't there be a crowd on a Saturday night?

Sounds like solid intel. How about this...freak out about the crowds, show up early and stay late.

I've been to Bronwyn's Octoberfest previously on a Saturday and it's not much different from any other night there except during Octoberfest they don't take reservations after 5:30, they have Octoberfest-themed items on the menu, and the Octoberfest beers are awesome (the cask beers were beautiful and the liter beers were also very good). The place is relatively small and it's popular on any given Saturday night so, yes, there will be a crowd. It's more of a dinner place and the bar area is small, so if you're arriving after 7 or so, don't expect that you'll be able to just pop in and grab a seat at the bar. (It might happen, but don't count on it.)

When I went, we showed up early (5:30ish, without reservations) and got a table on the patio. We ordered a round of beers, then a bit later ordered appetizers, then a couple more rounds of beers. We were there for probably about 2 or 3 hours and it was very leisurely. We didn't feel rushed.

Don't show up expecting that there'll be a big tent or outdoor area where you can walk around and mingle, because the place is small. You're going to be sitting on the patio, at the bar, or at an indoor table, because there isn't room for much else. The food is great and the Octoberfest beers are just fantastic. Prices are on the high side, but it's good stuff.

Yeah, I was going to make a snide remark about $20 Maß, but if they're going for €10+ at the source, shrug...

Thank you for the detailed response! I've been there a few times, I didn't know if it differed during their Octoberfest. I'll probably get there around 5ish and grab a bar seat, I like to eat early.

    Just a follow-up.

I got there with my party at 5 and it was a two hour wait. Bar was incredibly crowded (of course the rain limiting the outdoor seating didn't help) but the staff was accommodating. They also take your cell phone number, and text you when your table is ready. So you can feel free to head to the Independent for crowd-free beers until your table is ready.

Thanks for the follow up. Just curious: How many people were in your party? (Also, how were the beers?)

There were 6 of us. The Lowenbrau "Butterheim" Kellerbier from a gravity pour was unreal. One of the most drinkable beers I've ever had. I wanted to try the Monchshof Schwarzbier on tap, but it was $10. I also wanted to have more than one Kellerbier, but that draft was $14. Other than the Kellerbier there really wasn't anything special on draft, no other gravity kegs were pouring at that time. Food was excellent (albeit pricey/small portions) as was the service. All in all a good time, but it's not a place I make a habit of going to very often due to price.

Olde Magoun's has just as many Oktoberfests pouring (no gravity keg though!) and the German food is also excellent there.
