Heading into NYC for a quarterly work function tomorrow. I'm planning on swinging through Brooklyn to hit Other Half for some growler fills and maybe some cans of Forever (if they last). I'm also thinking of hitting Three's because it seems nearby and they have other beers available. A couple questions: Is it worth my time to head up to Interboro/Greenpoint/Singlecut if I'm trying to get beers to go? Or should I just look for their beers at bottle shops? Is there any other places nearby that are worth hitting while I'm in Brooklyn? I see on beermenus that the Whole Foods nearby has a decent selection. I just want to load up on as much of these great beers that are coming out of NY as possible. Thanks in advance for any responses!
Interboro - definitely go to the brewery. Fairly close-by places other than WF to check out would be gold star and covenhoven
St. Gambrinus not too far from whole foods and has good bottle selection with lots of NYC beers. On Atlantic off 4th Ave
What about Singlecut? I really liked the beers that I've had from them. Is it worth going to the brewery to get to go beers? Do they have more of a selection there? Or just try to find the bottles in shops?
You can get singlecut at WF...no reason to trek to the brewery. You are one week early for their can release...
+1 to Threes for their new "cans to go" fridge. You may find the OH/Monkish collab tomorrow. Also swing by Whole Foods to grab a few cans of Greenpoint Turbulence. That's another beer people are sleeping on!
@downesadam I was at WF Gowanus earlier. They have plenty of Singlecut Softly Spoken and Full Stack. And also Greenpoint Grey Matter and another one I forget the name of.
Bought a 4-pk from WF gowanus for $20 and haven't touched the three others since I tried the first one...no wonder they are still on the shelf!
I stopped by and grabbed both Singlecut bottles, a can of Turbulence and a 4 pk of Grey Matter. Good score. Also stopped by Interboro for some Mad Fat Fluid cans. They said they just sold out of The Next Episode cans yesterday. Good haul though. Thanks to all.
