Has anyone noticed that many of the bottle shops in the Raleigh area are now selling Black Chocolate Stout that was bottled in the winter of 2012-2013? The people working at the shops said that it had recently been delivered to them too.

Mistake by the distributor? A sneaky plan by the brewery??

I've heard that it's supposed to age really well so I had to snag a 4pk!

According to Garret Oliver (at an event at Brooklyn a few years ago), the Black Chocolate is just about perfect with 3 years of age on it.

I know when I lived in the NYC area, we would see the same thing so I'm guessing that it is intentional by Brooklyn. Maybe someone from Brooklyn Brewery could chime in.

I had this show up at my local grocery store recently. Bought two 4 packs, it's drinking great.

This isn't the first time with Brooklyn, I remember back in the day random vintages of Monster showing up on shelves...as far back as 2007 showing up in 2011.

Found some two year old Black Ops in FL. Drank great, but it makes one wonder where it's been. Hopefully not stored on the roof of a warehouse in Phoenix.
