I just picked up 2013 black ops. I would like to know should I age it or drink it now?

My thought with this is age it if your gojng for a vertical, otherwise just drink it now and enjoy it. Do you know when it was released? I didn't see it yet this year

Thanks. I'm not sure when it came out I guess this week. I was looking for fw 17 & found it.

I had a 2012 about a week ago and it was still a little boozy. I have one more that I am going to hold off on drinking for a while longer.

had an 2011 a few weeks ago. Haven't had it fresh, it was actually my first so I couldnt compare; but it was hugely boozy. major dominating alcohol aftertaste. not sure how the beer ages after that, but sounds like a fresh drinker.

I like it fresh. Had a 2009 recently that had fallen off greatly. I've had other vintages at various times, obviously.

Fresh to one year is perfect on Black Ops, the second year it begins to loose some of that lusciousness it has fresh. It was just released last week in GA, so it's likely a new one you landed.

Have you had it before? If the answer is "no", then drink it as you won't have anything to compare it to if you age it.

i traded a couple of these away...the champagne yeast that is in this beer was a turn off for me. maybe my palate will chagne. i just did not care for this one and traded it for some pretty easy to get stuff from wisconsin and both sides were happy

Really like 2012 fresh. I compared a 2012 to 2013 this year and thought the 2012 was not far off from Black Chocolate Stout. I know where a sneaky stash is if anyone needs one BM.

I got 2 this year, It was pretty good, IMO mild barrel taste compared to the BCS which is what I normally drink for BA beers. I plan on drinking my other one at my buddies beer tasting. I don't find this beer to boozy or to have to much bourbon taste. I would drink fresh every year.

I've had it fresh, and I recently opened a bottle from 2008, they've all been great.

I have a 2009 and 2010 in the cellar and haven't tasted this beer since having it fresh in 2010. Just looking for any tasting notes on vintages. My memories of it fresh were mostly good but maybe a little weaker malt profile than I would prefer and I picked up more black licorice than I would like. Obviously taste is subjective so please don't post "it's better fresh" or "it's not ready yet" without giving some reasons. Thanks.
