I haven't had this beer before but its on my list and now in the Twin Cities. I saw it priced we $24.99 which seems obscene. Is it worth it? Or totally over-priced?

If you've never tried it I'd say its worth $25, otherwise no. And best to let it sit a year or more before drinking.

Anybody see this stuff in the south metro? I heard the first shipment was pretty small but there should be another.

Will 2nd it's worth to try it once for $25, but since I've had it once last year at that price I think, I probably won't be buying it again. Is it ever on tap here?

I have never tried it. I would like to try it on tap. If it isn't on tap I will pass at 25 bucks a bottle. Rated @92 and 4.14 in my opinion kind of pricy.

$25 is absolutely outrageous. Even with their usual mark-up, you can get a whole bottle of Black Ops at Happy Gnome for $20. If you split it with a buddy, it's not too bad a deal and it's definitely worth trying once.

It's my roommate's favorite beer and we don't get distribution here in Iowa. I would be willing to trade if someone was willing.

Brooklyn Chocolate stout is way better and at a better price. That being said I might pick up a bottle to trade.

Yep and true but you can't take it home. Funny you can get an old bottle for cheaper.

Much like the bottles of Cantillon at NE Bulldog, the 20$ Black Ops has been gone for a while. They just have not updated the menu.

It's worth the price tag. Not an excessive price for a barrel aged beer. Consider what you pay for 12oz of bcbs.

Bourbon bomb and it is also quite hot fresh. I won't be buying a bottle but if you never had it...

I see have seen it here in Columbus for about $25. That seems to be the going rate.

That's exactly why I would only buy it once. Black Ops is > 200% of the cost of BCBS and not as good (24oz of BCBS = 11$ 25oz of Black Ops = 23$ ). If you are used to shelling out Bruery costs for beers then go for it but I will continue to skip over it since I've tried it before.

I stopped at Ale Jail and was going to grab one but then they said the price. Amazeballz beer but not $25, ironically I think I paid $21 last year but that was for my first try. If it was around $20 I probably woulda jumped but that extra $5 I'll just go get another couple 4 packs of black chocolate stout, already got a case this year and love that beer.

Did you find any (BCS) that was actually from this year? All I've been able to find is the 12/13 batch. Apparently the distributor didn't sell through last year's shipment, so rather than getting us this year's (13/14) batch that's available all around the country, they just sold the stores last year's remainders that they had sitting around. I bought a 4 without looking closely at the date, it's kind of annoying.

Sorry I lied you were right, heh forgot about that. I don't mind I love this crap fresh or aged, it just saves my ass from drinking it all before it's cellared.
